After discovering the reality of abortion as a young teenager, Lila Rose committed her life to defending human lives. In this Life Fest address, she explains the core truth of the pro-life movement and why love must lead the fight for life.
Lila reflects on the moment she first learned what abortion is and how that conviction led her, as a young teenager, to pray a simple prayer asking God to use her to help save lives. In this message, she explains the foundation of the pro-life position in clear, logical terms: it is always wrong to intentionally take an innocent human life, abortion takes an innocent human life, and therefore abortion is always wrong.
She addresses common cultural objections to the pro-life movement and explains why abortion is not healthcare, but the direct and intentional taking of an innocent human life. Lila also walks through the scientific consensus that human life begins at fertilization and why human rights belong to all humans, regardless of age, size, or stage of development.
But this message goes beyond argument. Lila emphasizes that the heart of the pro-life movement is love and that advocating for life requires both courage and compassion. She challenges listeners to stand for truth without hatred, to reject cruelty and indifference, and to work for the good of every person, including those who disagree.
As the crowd prepares to march, Lila calls on pro-lifers to defend lives with integrity, clarity, and love, recognizing that lasting cultural change comes not only from speaking the truth, but from living it.
Special thanks to the Sisters of Life and the Knights of Columbus for hosting Life Fest and for their leadership in building a culture that protects mothers and children.
