Live Action Responds to New Democrat Majority Trying to Reverse Pro-Life Protections

Washington, D.C. (Jan. 3, 2018) – Today, the new U.S. House Democrat majority has indicated that its priority is the U.S. taxpayer funding of abortion facilities around the world. In their proposed funding bill to end the partial government shutdown (the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2019), House Democrats seek to repeal the Mexico City Policy and increase funding for the United Nations Population Fund, known for supporting China’s one-and two-child policies of coerced abortions.

Population Fund, which supports China’s coerced abortion policies. This move shows that House Democrats are so radically pro-abortion that they are more concerned with pushing their abortion agenda on the American people than finding common ground to end the government shutdown.

“President Trump and the Senate Republican majority failed last session to pass a law preventing the American taxpayer from funding Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion chain. They now have a duty to stand firm and block such outrageous attempts to have the American taxpayer fund and promote abortion programs across the globe, which contributed to the killing of over 41 million children in the womb in 2018 alone.”
