Woman taken by ambulance from Washington Planned Parenthood after abortion injury

Operation Rescue has received a 911 recording that reveals an abortion injury occurred on February 15 at Everett Health Center-Planned Parenthood in Everett, Washington.

During the 911 call, the Planned Parenthood facility informed the dispatcher that the patient was a woman in her twenties suffering “possible perforation needs going to the hospital.” When the dispatcher asked if he should send ALS (advanced life support) transport or BLS (basic life support transport), the employee responded, “I think BLS transport,” even though a uterine perforation would be considered a serious emergency.

Uterine perforation, where one of the layers of the uterine wall is torn open, is one of the possible complications of a surgical abortion. As a result of the injury, the patient could experience heavy bleeding, nausea or vomiting, and abdominal pain. It is a serious injury that requires immediate medical attention.

The Everett Planned Parenthood facility advertises abortions up to 13 weeks and 6 days, which means the woman likely underwent either a suction dilation and curettage abortion (D&C), or a dilation & evacuation abortion (D&E). During the D&C procedure, the baby is suctioned out of her mother’s womb via a large vacuum; during the D&E procedure, she is pulled apart limb by limb with a Sopher clamp.

According to the CAD report released after the incident, it took 24 minutes for the woman to be transported to the hospital after the 911 call. Operation Rescue President Troy Newman reflected on the length of time it took for the woman to get the immediate attention she needed.

“In a dire emergency situation like this, every minute counts,” he said. “Despite the lack of urgency expressed by this Planned Parenthood killing center, we hope and pray this young lady reached medical professionals in time to save her life. If so, a strong possibility exists that the injuries sustained forced surgeons to perform a hysterectomy on a very young woman, leaving her forever barren.”

“As abortion injuries increase, whether it be the result of chemical abortions or surgical abortions, it is becoming more evident than ever that abortion is not safe – and it is certainly not healthcare,” he added. “Innocent babies are dying every day, and their mothers are increasingly at risk of life-threatening complications.”
