Post-abortive woman shares dangers of abortion in new documentary
Every day, women are being told that abortion is “safe,” “quick,” and “easy” — often compared to something as simple as getting a tooth pulled. Babies are dehumanized, referred to as “tissue” or “products of conception,” and the profound physical, emotional, and spiritual consequences of abortion are disregarded. Denise Mountenay would know. She has undergone three abortions and suffered from numerous abortion-related complications.
Denise Mountenay underwent three abortions and suffered multiple complications.
She also suffered from the emotional effects of abortion.
She has produced a documentary film to educate other women on the risks of abortion.
After the abortions she underwent, Mountenay suffered complications including infections, a scarred uterus, and breast lumps, in addition to the spiritual wounds that caused her to numb her pain with alcohol and drugs. Now, she’s using her experiences to educate women on the dangers of abortion through the production of a documentary entitled, “Truth Matters, The Impact of Choice.”

She told Live Action News, “Roe may have been overturned, but there’s still an ongoing culture war against pregnant women and children. Men are being silenced and chemical abortion is on the rise. And misinformation is still rampant. This film confronts propaganda head on while offering the truth with compassion and love.”
This documentary, she emphasizes, is not political; it is educational, evidence-based and deeply human — and it’s urgently needed to educate, equip, and awaken the public with the truth.
Over 39 years, Mountenay has traveled the world sharing her testimony. Now she wants to expose the lies being told to vulnerable women and advance the truth that abortion is not — and never has been — a safe procedure, whether committed surgically or chemically.
Her film combines scientifically based evidence with medical experts and powerful personal testimonies from post-abortive women. These experts dispel the myths about both surgical and chemical abortion and lay bare the facts. She said these voices are rarely heard in mainstream media, yet they are essential to understanding the full picture.
“We started filming at the UN headquarters in New York in March 2025,” Mountenay said. “Since then, we’ve traveled to Edmonton and Alberta, Canada as well as to Dallas and Florida for in-depth personal interviews. What makes this documentary so unique is that we’re highlighting the miracle of life right at conception.”
Mountenay points out that we all begin life as a microscopic cluster of cells, guided by a DNA blueprint that directs these cells development into a complete, distinct human being.
“It’s absolutely phenomenal that a microscopic cluster of cells contain all the inherent knowledge to form this human being,” Mountenay said. “Science confirms the miracle.”
The film seeks to educate how risky abortion procedures are falsely marketed as healthcare while showing the truth of fetal development. Through painful recounts of women and men who were impacted by abortion and the heartfelt repentance of former abortion workers, the devastation of abortion is clearly illustrated. Likewise, the curtain is drawn back to expose the lucrative global abortion industry revealing details that are especially egregious.
“Most importantly, we discuss that healing and redemption is free for everyone," Mountenay said. "Christ offered it to me, freeing me from my past and allowing me to move forward and help others find the light.”
She hopes the film will become a key educational tool for equipping young people in faith-based schools to know the truth behind the lies about abortion.
She noted, “I am producing a 10-minute version for pregnancy support centers and a 20-minute version for high school students and pro-life groups. My hope is that the pro-life groups will make money by reselling the film.”
For these groups, the film will be available on flash drives and DVDs at wholesale prices.
To help fund the film, Mountenay formed a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, “AdvancingTruthAlliance,” with a mission to “expose the deception surrounding abortion; champion the dignity of every human life; bring Christ-centered healing to families affected by pregnancy loss.” Although she and her husband have invested $35,000 into the film, they are seeking donations to help with marketing and distribution.
An ER physician in Australia, who has supported Mountenay for 20 years, has generously contributed to the film as well. While there is no release date set, the goal is to debut the film toward the end of the year.
Mountenay prays the film will go “viral” but also realizes that she will get pushback from the abortion industry and pro-choice advocates.
“I am geared up and ready to go regardless of the nastiness I expect will arise due to the film,” Mountenay said. “When I first conceived of this idea, I had a dream of David charging toward Goliath. I see Goliath as depicting the abortion giant.”
Because the film is operating on a shoestring budget, Mountenay has worn many hats while battling many challenges. Her film editor quit, citing personal family reasons and she’s had to improvise to keep the film moving along.
“The truth matters. That’s why I am just pressing on, one day at a time," Mountenay said. "I feel confident we will soon bring this project to fruition.”
This pro-life advocate is keeping her eye steadily on the goal of saving more preborn lives and preventing more women and men from experiencing the horrible consequences of abortion.
