Poll finds half of Americans support mail-order abortion drugs
A new poll from Center Square’s Voters Voice Poll found that half of all Americans support mail-order abortion via the abortion pill, though many expressed concern about the safety of mail-order delivery.
A new Center Square Voters Voice Poll conducted by Noble Predictive Insights found 51% of respondents say they support mail-order abortion pills.
48% of respondents indicate concerns with the mailing of abortion drugs.
With the advent of mail-order abortion, women have been tricked, coerced, and forced into abortions they did not want.
The poll, conducted by Noble Predictive Insights from August 12-16, surveyed 2,533 registered voters — 930 Republicans, 930 Democrats, and 673 Independent voters.
Fifty-one percent (51%) of the poll respondents said they "strongly support" or "somewhat support" prescribing abortion pills online and then making them available through the mail, while just 24% indicated they "strongly oppose."
Forty-eight percent (48%) said mailing abortion pills “raises safety and accountability concerns because it may be harder to verify who is receiving or using the medication."
As The Center Square reported:
Democratic respondents and 18 to 29 year olds were most likely to support mail-order abortion pills, according to the poll. About 65% of Democrats and 65% of young people at least “somewhat support” mail-order abortion pills.
Nearly half of respondents indicated concern with the mailing of abortion pills. They have good reason to be concerned.
Without an in-person visit, an abortionist may not know who is truly ordering these deadly drugs.
Since the FDA temporarily removed requirements that the abortion pill be dispensed in person by a physician (with permanent changes in 2023) under the Biden administration, there have been an increasing number of stories of men who have ordered the abortion pill online and then used the pill to drug a pregnant woman without her knowledge or consent.
Live Action News has shared some of the stories of abusive men who have tricked women into taking abortion-inducing drugs, including:
Justin Banta — caused the death of a six-week-old preborn child after he allegedly slipped his pregnant girlfriend abortion drugs.
Jeffrey Smith — spiked a pregnant woman's water bottle with abortion drugs.
David Benjamin Coot — forced an abortion drug into his mistress without her knowledge or consent.
Mason Herring - drugged his wife Catherine’s drink several times using misoprostol, the second drug of the two-drug abortion pill regimen.
Rosalie Markezich lost her preborn baby after her boyfriend ordered abortion drugs and then forced her to take them against her will. Though Rosalie later tried to vomit up the pills, she was unsuccessful. Sadly, she lost her baby to an abortion she didn't want.
There are several current lawsuits seeking an injunction against the FDA's approval of mail-order abortion pills, and some states have also taken action by outlawing the trafficking and distribution of abortion-inducing drugs within their borders.
However, until the abortion pill is completely outlawed, women and their preborn children will continue to be at risk.
