'Blessed': NASCAR's Joey Logano announces adoption of two children from foster care
NASCAR driver Joey Logano announced last week that he and his wife, Brittany, have officially adopted two children they were previously fostering.
NASCAR driver Joey Logano and his wife Brittany adopted two children from foster care during an emotional courthouse ceremony.
The couple spoke of God's blessing and guidance as the children joined their family.
In 2013, they started the Joey Logano Foundation to help children and young adults in crisis, with a focus on foster care.
They are sharing their story to inspire others to foster or adopt.
Joey Logano posted a video to his social media on October 22, detailing the special courthouse ceremony that officially turned the family of five (including three biological children) into a family of seven.
"After many days of limbo and uncertainty, today is day one of forever," Brittany said. "For your Dad and I, day one of forever was a while ago. We both knew that you were our babies almost immediately after meeting you."
Joey told the children during the ceremony:
“Basically, all of this, just to say that God’s blessed us. Basically, letting Him take the steering wheel. Sometimes we want to control our lives and control everything we can, but in this case, we let go, and He guided us to the right place, for sure, with you guys."
According to reports, the Loganos welcomed the two children into their home in early 2026 through the foster care system. Joey had previously discussed the calling the couple felt to open their home to fostering.
“We talked about it for years and talked [ourselves] out of it for many… being busy and can we really handle all of that," he said. "Eventually, you know what, [we] just felt like we kept getting called back to it.”
He was also quick to praise his biological children for their willingness to open up their home, as well as Brittany, whom he called a "superhero."
“You’re giving a couple of kids the opportunity to become whatever they want to be,” he said of adoption, continuing:
“I think that’s probably the most rewarding part, but also seeing that my biological children, how they have shown how big their hearts are. I was kind of always wondering about my kids sometimes.
I think when you’re home, you always see how your kids can sometimes do things that push you to the edge, but to see how opening they’ve been about helping, and they all share rooms now, and they got to share all their stuff now and all. It’s just a different life. And, they’ve been great.”
This isn't the first time that the Loganos have stepped up to help kids in need. Joey and Brittany also founded the Joey Logano Foundation in 2013. The foundation has a mission to "support children and young adults in times of crisis with a focus on the foster care system."
Joey said he's sharing his family's foster care and adoption journey in order to inspire others to follow suit if they feel called.
“We’ve been blessed to be able to do that,” he said. “The fact is there’s a lot of great kids out there that need a home and need somebody to love them and hug on them and tell them about their potential. And we’ve had a lot of people that, you know, pushed us along to do it.”
