March for Life 2026 theme reminds us 'Life is a Gift'
The March for Life has announced the theme "Life is a Gift" for its 53rd annual National March for Life, set to take place on Friday, January 23 in Washington, D.C.
The March for Life will take place in Washington, D.C. on January 23.
This year's theme, 'Life is a Gift,' serves to focus on a "key message of the pro-life mission."
Jennie Bradley Lichter, president of March for Life, said the theme is “an opportunity to focus our attention on a key message or a timely element of the pro-life mission.”
“We’re now at a critical moment in our country where the march for life and what we stand for is more important than ever,” Lichter told reporters in September, adding, “This year, with this theme, we really want to speak to the heart.”
“It is really a moment for boldness,” she added.

A beautiful video further detailed the theme, explaining:
"Every life is a gift. Even when it's unexpected. Even when the timing feels off. Even when it's hard, even when the world says otherwise.
We have been marching for over 50 years. And we will still march on because the world needs to hear that every single human life is precious. And because our heritage as Americans includes the right to life, we march as heirs of a legacy of courage, hope, and joy."
Every January, tens of thousands of pilgrims travel to Washington, D.C., to participate in the annual march, which bills itself as "the largest annual human rights demonstration in the world." On its website, the organization notes, "The March for Life is not just a protest… it is a celebration of each and every life, from the moment of conception."
Last year, Live Action founder and president Lila Rose addressed the crowd, along with Vice President JD Vance and a variety of other speakers. Lichter noted she expects "robust engagement" from the speakers this year as well.
The March for Life concluded its theme video with a reminder of why pro-lifers march every year.
"On behalf of generations yet to come, we march because life is beautiful, unrepeatable, and perfectly unique. Life is worth protecting and worth celebrating. We march to be the voice for the voiceless. All life deserves a chance because every single life is a gift."
