'Defund Day' 2026 rallies call for end to taxpayer funding of abortion
Saturday, June 27, 2026, is "Defund Day," when Live Action and other pro-life organizations and individuals will host a series of demonstrations across the country, advocating for the continued federal Medicaid defunding of Planned Parenthood and other abortion businesses.
Live Action and other pro-life groups and individuals will host "Defund Day" rallies at nine locations on Saturday June 27.
The rallies will occur outside Planned Parenthood facilities, and are meant to send a message to our nation’s lawmakers to extend the federal Medicaid defunding of Planned Parenthood.
President Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill," signed on July 4, 2025, defunded abortion businesses of federal Medicaid dollars for one year. That defunding is set to expire on July 5 unless Congress votes to extend it.
Pro-lifers around the country will gather on June 27 for "Defund Day" demonstrations at select Planned Parenthood locations. The initiative's goal is to bring pro-lifers together for a moment of united, national activism that will be amplified online to send a clear message to our nation’s leaders: Extend the Defund of Planned Parenthood! Defend life!
Rallies are currently scheduled at nine locations in California, Florida, Texas, Michigan, New Mexico, and Washington, D.C. Live Action's founder and president, Lila Rose, is scheduled to speak at the primary demonstration held in Orange County, California.
Those who cannot attend an in-person demonstration are encouraged to sign up as Digital Defund Day Ambassadors, who will help spread the online message that Congress needs to extend the federal Medicaid defunding of Planned Parenthood and other abortion businesses.
On July 4, 2025, President Trump signed "The Big Beautiful Bill," which included a provision to strip federal Medicaid funding from abortion businesses, including Planned Parenthood, for one year. That funding is slated to be restored on July 5, 2026, unless lawmakers vote to extend the defunding.
