Planned Parenthood’s ex-CEO says pro-lifers are lying lawbreakers. She must be confused.

Planned Parenthood CEO

Cecile Richards has officially stepped down as Planned Parenthood’s president and CEO, a decision that was announced earlier this year but only recently took effect. Her successor has not yet been named. Joe Solmonese, former CEO of pro-abortion activist organization EMILY’S List, will act as the interim president while the abortion chain seeks a new leader. While what comes next for Richards is not yet known — she merely says she will “remain in the fight” to keep abortion legal — and she has not been shy about giving interviews to abortion-friendly media outlets.

Richards recently interviewed with Amanda Marcotte for Salon. The puff piece was filled with Planned Parenthood propaganda, such as how the aborted baby parts scandal — in which the abortion chain illegally sold the body parts of preborn babies they aborted — was a hoax and a lie (which is, of course, false). But perhaps the most laughable statement is where Richards attempted to smear her opposition as liars and cheaters.

“I think that one of the things that I see on the right is they are so much more willing to lie, cheat, steal, deceive, break the law — tactics that frankly we don’t use in the progressive community,” Richards said, apparently with a straight face. “I do think that they have that advantage. The other is, they’ve got a lot of money. People who really probably could care less about the issue, but have complete focus on undermining any progressive institution that has either capacity or political power.”

It would be hilarious if she weren’t so serious. Money? Law-breaking? Lying? Deception? These are all things that fit squarely with Planned Parenthood’s modus operandi. This supposed “healthcare” organization has been breaking the law for years.

Planned Parenthood is notorious for breaking the law

The baby parts scandal is the most notorious example of Planned Parenthood’s willingness to break the law. The abortion chain routinely sold the body parts of babies they aborted, often without receiving consent from the mother first, an act that breaks multiple laws. This was discovered after a long-term undercover investigation from the Center for Medical Progress was unveiled through videos that showed Planned Parenthood executives talking about the grisly business as they laughed and ate lunch (the video below is just one of many).

While Richards and her allies repeatedly claimed — and continue to claim — that the videos were a fraud, this has been thoroughly debunked. These were real employees and real conversations. And in addition to the horrifying knowledge that Planned Parenthood is selling body parts, the videos revealed that the abortion chain has also been killing babies born alive after abortion… another crime. And these crimes bring in major profits. The evidence against Planned Parenthood in the baby parts scandal was enough for the Department of Justice to launch an investigation.

However, that’s just the beginning of Planned Parenthood’s law-breaking behavior. Under Cecile Richards’ leadership, Planned Parenthood has been caught covering up both the rape of children and sex trafficking — in undercover investigations and in real-world examples. Victims get taken to Planned Parenthood, and even if the staffers know that the situation is suspicious, they look the other way, commit the abortion, and collect their blood money. This so-called healthcare organization has also been caught on numerous occasions to have fraudulently billed Medicaid.

Planned Parenthood lies to women, and lies about what it actually does

As for lying to women? Planned Parenthood’s cornered the market on that one, too. When desperate, vulnerable women come to the organization’s facilities, they won’t get help. Instead, they’ll be manipulated, lied to, and pressured into having an abortion.

This organization, along with Richards herself, frequently lies about the services it provides as well. Richards has created a convincing deception that the abortion corporation is the foremost health care provider for women in America; this could not be further from the truth. In fact, under Richards, health care at Planned Parenthood has declined, while abortions have risen, despite the persistent lie that abortion is only 3% of the organization’s business.

Planned Parenthood also lies about the services they don’t provide, claiming they do when they don’t, like mammograms (Planned Parenthood provides zero) and prenatal care.

Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry are the ones with money and power

It’s also rich that Richards claims her opposition having money and power. Richards herself is a political activist who raked in a salary of almost $1 million every year as president and CEO of Planned Parenthood. The abortion corporation itself enjoys half a billion dollars in taxpayer funding every single year — and that’s just taxpayer funding. But oh, sure, it’s the big, wealthy, powerful pro-life organizations as the metaphorical Goliath against poor, tiny Planned Parenthood’s David… especially when much of the media is abortion-friendly and willing to parrot Richards’ lies without question.

Mainstream media and even social media give Planned Parenthood a free pass on its claims, while refusing to allow pro-life organizations like Live Action to counter any of this messaging with the truth.

The very idea that Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry are the ones with a disadvantage is ludicrous.

It’s not pro-lifers who lie, cheat, steal, deceive, and break the law every day. It’s Cecile Richards and the politically powerful abortion behemoth she piloted.
