March for Life Action ad: Americans want limits on abortion

Abortion advocates would like Americans to believe that most of the country shares their outrageous and extremist views on abortion, including support for taxpayer funding for abortions. Earlier this month, several pro-abortion organizations even held a concert to claim that such a position is common sense. But March for Life, which recently launched March for Life Action, has just released an ad, “Consensus,” which gives information on the public’s true opinions, counteracting this false narrative:

The polls do not agree with Big Abortion – but they’re claiming they do, thanks to some polls packed with loaded and leading questions. The March for Life ad cites poll data from a July 2016 Knights of Columbus/Marist poll. The results show that there is indeed a consensus, from American voters of various demographics and beliefs about abortion, when it comes to commonsense regulations and restrictions — and those beliefs are that they don’t want unrestricted, taxpayer-funded abortion.

“Without using actors, the ad features six women from different political and professional backgrounds,” a press release for the ad notes.

One of the women in the ad, Chelsen Vicari, spoke to Live Action News about the ad. “Pro-lifers can stop playing defense and start recognizing their position on substantial abortion restrictions is the mainstream consensus position. Don’t be intimidated by the professional political bullies. You’re the popular lady (or gentleman) at The View table now,” she said, quoting her in-progress op-ed. “It’s my honor to lend my voice to this campaign ad alongside these wonderful, bright, diverse #prolife ladies on behalf of women, the unborn, & the prolife consensus in America,” she also noted.

The press release also contains a statement from March for Life president on the reason for the ad, while also taking issue with the pro-choice label:

With this ad, we encourage Americans to take a deeper look at their candidates. Politicians who claim to be ‘pro-choice,’ essentially advocate for abortion-on-demand up until the time of birth, paid for by your taxpayer dollars.  This radical position is out of touch with the large majority of Americans. With an overwhelming majority of Americans in favor of substantial restrictions on abortion, it’s time for politicians to change the fact that current U.S. law does not reflect the hearts and minds of its own people regarding life.

The ad, called “the first of its kind for March for Life Action,” “… highlights the reality that pro-life policies are reflective of mainstream America, and are winning positions for candidates running for office.”

As the press release also explains about the ad:

The first phase of the campaign will run Thursday through Monday, leading into the Presidential debate, and will include digital and television outreach. Targeting Columbus, OH; Dayton, OH; Pittsburg, PA; Scranton, PA; Richmond, VA and the District of Columbia, the ad will run during major network programs including: Madame Secretary, Today Show, CBS This Morning, 60 Minutes and other significant programs.

Monday is the first Presidential debate between Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and GOP nominee Donald Trump.
