Let’s be clear: Abortion is always an intentional act of killing

Everyone needs to know the truth about what would happen if Roe v. Wade is overturned. But first of all, it is critical to know the all-encompassing definition of abortion: Abortion is the intentional killing of an innocent preborn child.

The key word here is “intentional.”

Here is what abortion is NOT:

  • Cancer treatment on pregnant women
  • The procedure of removing part of the fallopian tube containing an embryo since that child cannot grow there and will not survive (ectopic pregnancy)
  • The D&C procedure or labor-inducing pill sometimes needed when the child has naturally died in the womb (miscarriage) and the mother needs medical help to remove the already deceased child from her womb.
  • Emergency preterm delivery

In addition to these, there are other medical treatments women may have to undergo for their own health while pregnant, but none of those treatments require the mother to intentionally kill her child.

In all of these cases, true healthcare is needed. In all of these cases, abortion (intentionally killing the child) is NOT needed. Intentionally killing an innocent human is never true healthcare.

In fact, a group of medical professionals came together at a symposium in Ireland and put together a document called the Dublin Declaration, which declares that abortion is never medically necessary. Over 1,000 medical professionals have signed the document – so far! The declaration states:

As experienced practitioners and researchers in obstetrics and gynecology, we affirm that direct abortion – the purposeful destruction of the unborn child – is not medically necessary to save the life of a woman.

We uphold that there is a fundamental difference between abortion, and necessary medical treatments that are carried out to save the life of the mother, even if such treatment results in the loss of life of her unborn child.

We confirm that the prohibition of abortion does not affect, in any way, the availability of optimal care to pregnant women.

These medical professionals represent true “care, no matter what.” True healthcare treats both patients with dignity and respect – the mother and the preborn child. So what does a country without Roe really mean?

Overturning Roe would only mean the intentional killing of a child in the womb can be prohibited by state laws now. Nothing else. No other medical procedure will be affected.

And the intentional killing will only be prohibited in the states who choose to put in place life-saving laws. Abortion will still not be outlawed everywhere… and our real goal is to make it fully outlawed to the point it is unthinkable to all

Roe has prevented states from enacting life-saving laws for the last 49 years, so doing away with it will be a step in the right direction, but it’s actually still a compromise with the abortion industry. We have a long way to go and we are just getting started.

Think about this: Abortion facilities exist to kill babies in healthy pregnancies. They might say they exist to help women, but if you call any abortion facility and ask for medical assistance when having true complications, they will likely turn you away. Likewise, if you reach out needing material support to care for your child, they will likely turn you away.

The abortion mindset says the solution to every problem is to kill. The pro-life mindset says suffering never outweighs the inherent value of life. Most abortionists were trained to heal as physicians. Instead, they kill children for money. Abortion is not healthcare and abortionists are not healers.

In light of these facts, the leaked Supreme Court opinion piece written by Justice Alito is hopeful. Alito says clearly that Roe should be overturned because it never should have become the law of the land in the first place.

Roe has been allowing grave injustice to happen for over 49 years. The “right to abortion” is a fictitious phrase.

Abortion is not Constitutional because nowhere in the Constitution does it say anyone should have the right to kill another living, innocent human being.

It IS Constitutional, however, that every person has a right to life.
