Costco Will NOT Sell The Deadly Abortion Pill
Washington, D.C. – Today, Live Action, one of the nation’s leading human rights organizations, applauds the decision by Costco executives not to sell the chemical abortion drugs mifepristone and misoprostol.
Though Costco Wholesale has not yet issued a formal notice, the company told Bloomberg News in a statement that it “hasn’t seen consumer demand for the [abortion] pill”. This comes after a recent study of insurance claims shows 1 in 10 women who take these drugs suffer serious complications such as ER visits, surgeries, or dangerous infections.

“This is a victory for life. Costco is refusing to profit from the killing of innocent children in the womb and the exploitation of mothers through these dangerous abortion drugs. Live Action was glad to demonstrate that the American people reject businesses that peddle death, and we will continue to expose and oppose any pharmacy that sells this deadly pill. Every life saved matters.
Walgreens and CVS must follow Costco’s example and end their trafficking in death. The abortion pill is a poison that has killed millions of preborn children and harmed countless women. The FDA must end this atrocity by pulling its approval and stopping the silent slaughter of our nation’s most vulnerable.”
Late last year, as other pharmacies promoted their ability to make Mifepristone and misoprostol accessible, Live Action released a comedy sketch highlighting that Costco was not selling the abortion pill, as well as engaging in activism towards Walgreens and other pharmacies to show that the American people reject the trafficking of abortion pills.
