French government partners with Planned Parenthood in Africa

Africa, Planned Parenthood

(TC Public Relations) Human Life International has a front row seat to abuses against women in Africa. The global, Catholic, pro-life organization is condemning the West’s agenda against gender-based violence as duplicitous. As the official French Development Agency announced its financial support of a consortium with International Planned Parenthood Federation Africa, Human Life International has declared that abortion is the ultimate manifestation of gender-based violence. In the past year, their work in Tanzania, Malawi, and Zimbabwe, is helping combat the brutality perpetrated against women and their children by abortion.

The French government is pouring $7.5 million into addressing and responding to gender-based violence in ten different countries, including Kenya, Ethiopia, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea, Burkina Faso and Niger, by partnering with the African affiliate of abortion giant Planned Parenthood and other self-described “women’s empowerment groups.”

“With a political agenda that shamefully promotes abortion, the ultimate gender-based violence, these entities are claiming to protect women,” explained Emil Hagamu, a Human Life International Regional Director in Africa. “Meanwhile Human Life International is educating people of Africa the need to welcome and support every human life from conception until natural death, supporting pregnancy resource centers, and providing actual, quantifiable, beneficial help in the form of medical, material, and spiritual support for pregnant women and their children.”

“Gender-based violence is a tragedy,” observed Hagamu, “but the idea that making abortions more available helps women is ludicrous and duplicitous. More than eight million abortions occur in Africa each year, and 51 percent of those aborted babies– over four million – are female. Young women in Africa are taught contraception, but not chastity. Out-of-wedlock pregnancy is considered a disgrace in many communities, and those who become pregnant are regularly driven to abort their babies. Any program that truly seeks to stop gender-based violence will seek to provide healthy, life affirming support for women, rather than serving up death to their children.”

Hagamu noted that people of Africa consider human life sacred and believe that it is to be welcomed with joy, respected, and defended.

“Each preborn child in a woman’s womb is a blessing to families in Africa,” Hagamu explained. “The more children that a mother begets, the more she commands respect in her family and the surrounding neighborhood. When a child is killed by abortion the entire family suffers and therefore, abortion leaves behind grieving communities in Africa. Abortion is the root cause of cruel behaviors among women and young people, and that is why ‘killing and dying’ are no longer the taboos that they were in the past.”

Human Life International works to counter these damaging developments, continually advocating for true economic and social justice at the highest levels. Relying on US based support, Human Life International programs in Africa center on saving human lives and preserving the health and dignity of every African. Serving men, women, young, elderly, sick and disabled Africans, Human Life International affirms the integrity of marriages and families through natural family planning and by teaching human development and sexuality in a way that promotes chastity, humility, compassion, respect, abstinence, true love, and genuine friendship.

“The so-called civilized West has sent millions of dollars to Africa to pay for abortions and contraceptives, something that African women have not asked for,” added Hagamu. “A full 85% of African nations have chosen to protect preborn children through abortion regulations and restrictions, while global groups out of the United Nations and the World Health Organization have long engaged in intentional population control, through ‘contraceptive imperialism’ or ‘chemical slavery.’ Through abortion, birth control and sterilization, Africa’s population has long been intentionally targeted for decimation. This is the gender-based violence that must be stopped.”
