Chicago abortion facility calls 911 when woman won’t wake following abortion
An abortion committed in December of 2022 resulted in a 911 call when the woman didn’t wake up following the procedure.
Operation Rescue reported that Family Planning Associates in Chicago, Illinois, had dosed a woman with propofol, a drug administered intravenously to induce sedation. It is known to cause blood pressure to fall and breathing to stop and has been used for euthanasia in Canada. The Canadian Medical Aid in Dying Handbook states, “Respirations may cease during Propofol administration” and “Death may result from the Propofol…”
The drug gained notoriety after the “king of pop” Michael Jackson died from acute propofol intoxication after a doctor administered it to him.
In this instance, the drug was used to sedate a 35-year-old woman before an abortion. Afterward, according to the computer-aided dispatch report, she did not wake up as expected. The staff member who called 911 told the operator that it had been 40 minutes, the woman had still not woken up, and they heard wheezing in her lungs.

The woman’s condition is not currently known.
Family Planning Associates has a long history of injuring women, with one abortionist at the facility, Allison Cowett, having been sued for malpractice 10 times. Operation Rescue also noted the abortion business has killed at least three abortion clients, including a 13-year-old girl. Two of those deaths involved critical issues relating to anesthesia. Clients there have been taken to the emergency room for aspirating on their own vomit and experiencing cardiac emergency and trouble breathing while under sedation.
Operation Rescue has documented 17 known medical emergencies at the facility since 2018.
“This abortion mill has a sordid history of employing some of the most despicable abortionists in the baby-killing business, deceitfully called ‘reproductive health care,’” Operation Rescue President Troy Newman said in a statement. “Anyone who uses their medical training to regularly profit by violating their Hippocratic Oath, spending their days killing instead of saving lives, is not worthy of their credentials. That is why we refuse to call them doctors. They have no respect for human life, and there is no wonder so many mothers are injured and killed at the mercy of their blood-stained hands.”
