“Texas Gosnell” will NOT be indicted for regularly committing infanticide

douglas karpenIn early June, we told you about the “Texas Gosnell,” Houston-based abortionist Douglas Karpen:

Just when we thought we had heard it all, news broke in Houston, Texas that Douglas Karpen, the “Texas Gosnell,” is busy at work running a late-term abortion business so shocking that it proves once and for all that Gosnell was not an anomaly. In fact, Karpen’s own former clinic workersdescribe practices so cruel and inhuman that they may indicate that Karpen is even worse.

Operation Rescue, a pro-life organization that works to expose practices that abortionists would rather keep secret, came together with other pro-life organizations to reveal the horrifying events that have been taking place inside Karpen’s abortion mill for years. Three of Karpen’s former employees testified to the horrors in an exclusive interview with Operation Rescue. These employees shared that when committing late-term abortions, Karpen usually delivered the babies alive and fully in-tact before he killed them. Note that this was not an occasional, accidental occurrence: Karpen’s habit was to deliver live babies and then kill them afterwards.

To a pro-lifer, there is no difference between killing a child in the womb and killing a child who is already birthed. However, in the eyes of the law, the former is called legal abortion, while the latter is considered infanticide. Furthermore, photo documentation also suggests that Karpen seems to be accustomed to take the lives of pre-born children well beyond the gestational age allowed by law, and sometimes into the third trimester. This was illegal even before the passage of HB2 further mitigated the gestational age limit earlier this year.

Despite this fact, a Houston grand jury decided today not to indict Douglas Karpen for committing infanticide and breaking other Texas laws on a regular basis. According to Operation Rescue president Troy Newman,

The grand jury has essentially freed Karpen to continue to violate Texas laws and take the lives of late-term babies that the law was meant to protect.

Newman reiterated the dedication of pro-lifers to protecting women and children from the predatory practices of Douglas Karpen. Stay tuned for further developments.
