In 2008, according to the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, there were 55,391 official deaths in New York City.
Also in 2008, according to the New York State Department of Health, there were 82,475 killed by induced abortions in New York City.
I think it is fair to say, that this is true…

As commenter “charleyme2” as pointed out, the data for abortions came from 2008 and the data for deaths came from 2006 (but was reported in 2008). The correct comparison should be between abortions in 2008 and deaths in 2008. Based on that comparison, there we 54, 193 deaths from causes other than abortion instead of 55,391 which is the 2006 number. This minor change actually makes the ratio of abortion deaths to deaths from other causes higher.
