Discover the Truth About Defunding Planned Parenthood: Lesson 2

Question

Doesn’t Planned Parenthood provide breast exams and other necessary women’s health care services?

Answer

The women’s health care services offered by Planned Parenthood are extremely limited. Planned Parenthood’s own numbers show that they perform less than two percent of all manual breast exams and pap smears in the United States annually, they don’t perform a single mammogram (although for years they lied and said they did), and yet they commit over 41 percent of America’s abortions—more than 354,871 annually. That’s 972 children a day who are dismembered, poisoned, or starved to death. You can see more about how Planned Parenthood misleads the public about what it does by watching this short video.

The belief that if Planned Parenthood goes away, women will have nowhere to go for health care is absolutely false. Women seeking accessible, affordable health care can visit any one of the 1,400+ Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) operating over 13,000 sites across the United States. FQHCs provide all the reproductive health services that Planned Parenthood offers and more. And they don’t profit off the destruction of innocent preborn life. (See the previous lesson for more details.)

Planned Parenthood portrays itself as a provider of health care services, and claims that abortion is only 3% of what they do. This video exposes these claims as lies.

Something to think about

How many people nationwide do you think are convinced that Planned Parenthood is a champion of women’s health care rather than a heartless operation purpose-built to end innocent lives?
