Sen. Barbara Boxer tries – and fails – to censor the facts about Planned Parenthood

pro-life, censorship, Unplanned

On Monday evening, longtime pro-abortion Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), described the “painful rhetoric” of pro-lifers to MSNBC’s Steve Kornacki:

But instead, they use this painful rhetoric. Yes, I think there is a connection between when you say somebody is killing a baby, and you go into all of that, and harvesting the parts from babies, this rhetoric is hurtful to the doctors, to the nurses, to the patients.

Sen. Boxer is quite right that this is painful stuff. But it’s painful not because it’s “rhetoric,” but because it’s fact.

Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards continues to remind politicians and the media that her organization decided to stop “accepting reimbursements” for fetal body parts. Wait…this means Richards herself admits that PP was trading money for baby organs, limbs, etc. It’s painfully obvious that such parts can only be traded, sold, or otherwise distributed after first being harvested.

So, Senator Boxer, it’s not rhetoric to “say somebody” is “harvesting the parts from babies.” If so, Boxer must believe Richards herself has taken part in this rhetoric.

However Boxer spins it, the harvesting of baby parts is indeed a painful fact. And it’s painful not only to the conscience of a civilized nation, but to the actual babies involved – babies like the San Jose baby boy whose face was sliced open, while he was alive, so that his brain could be harvested and sold.

It’s also not mere “rhetoric” to say that babies are killed by abortion. Whether the term embryo, fetus, newborn, infant, child, adolescent, teenager, adult, or elderly is used, these terms all refer to a human being at various stages of development. Science tells us this. Textbook after textbook inform us of the clear facts:

At the moment the sperm cell of the human male meets the ovum of the female and the union results in a fertilized ovum (zygote), a new life has begun. (More here.)

That scientific “new life” is both human and small. The life is also very young, hence why we refer to this tiny life as a “baby.” (Baby also just so happens to be actually defined as “a human fetus” or “an infant or very young child” in the dictionary.)

Not only do we have science and dictionaries on the side of babies, we have Planned Parenthood itself and multiple abortionists who freely admit that abortion kills fetuses/babies/humans.

As this Live Action article reports:

Faye Wattleton, the “longest reigning president” of Planned Parenthood agreed that people know the reality of abortion: it is a killing. everyone already knows that abortion kills. In an interview with Ms. Magazine she said:

“I think we have deluded ourselves into believing that people don’t know that abortion is killing. So any pretense that abortion is not killing is a signal of our ambivalence, a signal that we cannot say yes, it kills a fetus.”

Scott Klusendorf describes a statement made by late-term abortionist Warren Hern:

Dr. Warren Hern, author of Abortion Practice, the medical text that teaches abortion procedures, told a Planned Parenthood conference: “We have reached a point in this particular technology [D&E abortion] where there is no possibility of denying an act of destruction. It is before one’s eyes. The sensations of dismemberment flow through the forceps like an electric current.”

Sarah Terzo previously reported for Live Action News on statements made by a number of abortionists (which you can find here):

In one article in the American Medical News that was probably never meant for pro-life eyes, abortion providers from around the country discussed the emotional difficulties of performing abortions. One doctor said:

“I have angry feelings at myself for feeling good about grasping the calvaria [head], for feeling good about doing a technically good procedure that destroys a fetus, kills a baby.”

Terzo also reported on Judith Arcana, who “said at a seminar”:

I performed abortions, I have had an abortion and I am in favor of women having abortions when we choose to do so. But we should never disregard the fact that being pregnant means there is a baby growing inside of a woman, a baby whose life is ended. We ought not to pretend this is not happening.

Does Sen. Boxer consider these pro-abortion allies to be part of the “painful rhetoric” that abortion kills babies?

In truth, they’re actually a part of telling the true and painful facts about abortion. The act kills an innocent human, period. And in our constitutional nation, we don’t censor the free speech of those who are telling the factual truth – no matter how unpleasant it may be to hear and think about.
