Perhaps most known for his portrayal of Jesus in The Gospel of Matthew film, actor Bruce Marchiano has turned producer and screenwriter and is currently working with a team to bring Alison’s Choice: A Film about Life to the screen.
With a completed screenplay, now the producer is raising funds to finish the project, saying “funding is by donation, which releases the film to reach many more lives.”
The film takes a simple premise, asking, “What would Jesus say to a woman having an abortion?”
The film website describes the plot:
“Now in development, Alison’s Choice is a feature film that answers this question, and in doing so, seeks to save unborn lives. The story is as compelling as it is simple: Alison, a teen, is facing pregnancy. With nowhere to turn, she finds herself in a ‘clinic’ about to end her baby’s life. Suddenly a man appears. His mop tells her he’s the janitor. Conversation begins and it quickly becomes clear that this man is no mere janitor, but Jesus manifest. And He’s come to save the life of her baby.”
While the film is aimed at reaching a wide audience, as any film would be, producer Marchiano hopes to get this film in the hands of churches and crisis pregnancy centers, reaching women in need with a message of hope. The filmmakers’ say:
“The plight of the unborn is a blight of the darkest nature on this nation, USA, and many nations around the world. Thousands of babies are ‘terminated’ every day, each a life deeply precious. Alison’s Choice seeks to save these babies by reaching the hearts of their mothers through a compelling drama to be brought to the screen in cinematic excellence.”
Nearing the end of fundraising, the film has raised about $120,000 of the $448,000 needed. Alison’s Choice hopes to present the real choice of life to many across the nation.
