‘Mean-mugging’: Baby girl’s adorable newborn photo session shows she’s less than impressed

Many cherubic newborns snuggle up and sleep peacefully for their newborn photography sessions. But one particular newborn baby girl, little Luna Musa of Westerville, Ohio, born on November 15th, apparently had other ideas.

Luna’s mom and dad, Christian and Lori Musa, got a good laugh when photographer Justine Tuhy gave them a first look at Luna’s photos from their session. “She’s been mean-mugging since day one,” said Luna’s dad. “She’s either mean-mugging non-stop, or just unimpressed.”

In the video below from Good Morning America, you can see that Luna really isn’t feeling the happy vibes:

While Luna looks rather unhappy in some of the photos, Good Morning America reports that during the entire 90-minute photo session, she was “both awake and peaceful the whole time,” according to the photographer.

“She was completely content the entire time,” Tuhy told GMA. “She just gave me the stare down the entire time as well.” She added, “I always wonder when they’re that awake, ‘What are they thinking exactly? Do you love this or majorly dislike it?'”

Luna’s dad says he keeps Luna’s “mean-mugging” photos on his phone — but those photos have brought laughter to many more people than her immediate family. The photos have gone viral on Facebook, and have been seen in many unexpected places. “What we thought was funny was my sister-in-law texted us and said, ‘One of my patients came over and told me to look at this cute baby and I was like, ‘That’s my niece,'” Luna’s father told GMA. “We’ve seen her face on ‘Game of Thrones’ characters, Baby Yoda, everywhere.”

Tuhy has been surprised yet delighted that her photos of Luna have garnered so much attention. “All I was doing was my job. Miss Luna did all the incredible work with her silly facial expressions,” she told GMA. “I’m super blessed to have captured this special moment for the family that they can cherish forever.”
