Pro-choice website takes down ironic pro-life “bully list”

Until a few days ago, stalwart members of the Pro-Life Action League spent years on a so-called “pro-life bully” list at a website called Voice of Choice. The “bullies” include Anne Scheidler and Joe Scheidler, and the League’s Assistant Communications Director, Matt Yonke. Despite the title of the list, none of these pro-lifers ever actually bullied a pro-choice advocate (but who’s keeping track of annoying facts, anyway?).

Boasting personal information such as home addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses, the list may have been directed at making pro-lifers uncomfortable with continuing their work. It doesn’t seem to have had that effect, however, given the full-time and very effective pro-life advocacy still being carried out by people like the Scheidlers and Yonke.

For unexplained reasons, the people at Voice of Choice have decided to retire their pro-life bully list. Without warning, it was removed from the Voice of Choice website on Wednesday, possibly the result of a lawsuit against Voice of Choice over the list. However, the group’s motive for removing the page is unclear at this point.

The outstanding irony of a pro-life “bully” list doesn’t stop there, though. Here’s what Voice of Choice has to say about the pro-life movement:

For too long, the abortion discussion has been dominated by angry, nasty protests fueled by individuals and organizations that thrive on sensationalism and extremism.

The problem? They seem to have gotten the pro-life movement mixed up with their own:
