Abortionist with troubled history sends another woman to the ER

An abortionist responsible for at least one woman’s death has sent another woman to the emergency room.

KEY TAKEAWAYS:

  • In 2014, Lisa Perriera was the abortionist responsible for the death of 22-year-old Lakisha Wilson at Preterm in Cleveland, Ohio.
  • Perriera has continued since that time to practice under dangerous conditions.
  • Another woman has been found to have been injured at Perriera’s hands — this time in New Jersey.

THE DETAILS:

Operation Rescue reported that the emergency occurred at the Cherry Hill Women’s Center in New Jersey, on April 4, 2025. Though the 911 audio was heavily redacted, during the call, abortionist Perriera took the phone away from the staffer to talk to the emergency dispatcher herself.

It is unusual for an abortionist to speak directly to a 911 dispatcher on an emergency call from an abortion facility:

The patient was 37 years old, and Operation Rescue was able to confirm that hemorrhage, or uncontrollable bleeding, was at least one of the issues requiring transfer to the hospital.

The patient’s status is unknown, as are any other details about the abortion or the emergency.

WHY IT MATTERS:

Perriera has worked at multiple abortion facilities across the country, and has been known to allow dangerous conditions at these facilities. While working at the Philadelphia Women’s Center, for example, the state of Pennsylvania issued a list of health code violations, which included breaking state law by supplying abortion pills to minors without their parents’ knowledge or consent.

Most notably, however, Perriera was the abortionist responsible for the death of Lakisha Wilson, which could have been prevented. It appears that Perriera may have lied about Wilson’s gestational age — which was close to 23 weeks — in order to get around the 20-week abortion limit in Ohio; Perriera listed her as 19 weeks, four days pregnant. There was no proper monitoring during or after the abortion, which led to her death.

Wilson’s uterus did not contract properly afterwards, which led her to begin hemorrhaging. That, in turn, led to cardiac arrest, and she had already suffered “fatal brain damage all before a Preterm employee finally was told to call 911 for help.” By the time EMS arrived, Wilson had not been breathing for almost 30 minutes.

Additionally, it took extra time for paramedics to even be able to reach Wilson, as the elevator was malfunctioning; once they did get to her, they could not intubate her to ensure that she continued receiving the oxygen she needed to survive, as the elevator was too small for the gurney to lie flat as needed.

THE BOTTOM LINE:

The abortion industry routinely fights against being held to the same regulations as legitimate health care providers. This allows abortionists like Perriera to flourish, no matter how many women they injure and kill, or how many laws they break.
