Adoption agency to send pro-life ads to smartphones inside abortion clinics

The international pregnancy support and adoption agency Bethany Christian Services is launching a program to send life-saving ads specifically to smartphones inside abortion clinics, Copley Advertising has announced in a press release.

Copley, the creators of the “mobile geo-fence program,” say they will “target Planned Parenthood clinics, abortion clinics, methadone clinics and high-risk areas (AHPA)” starting in Columbus, New York City, Pittsburg, Richmond, and St. Louis, tagging smartphones inside the locations and placing Bethany ads in apps they open.

“We are very excited to bring our mobile marketing capabilities to the pro-life community,” Copley CEO John Flynn said.

Copley and Bethany first connected earlier this summer, following the latter’s April-May foray into IP-targeted advertising for female college students, which was credited with making half a million impressions.

“Marketing for pregnancy help centers has always been a needle in a haystack approach—cast a wide net and hope for the best,” Bethany regional marketing manager Jennie VanHorn said. “With geo fencing, we can reach women who we know are looking for or in need of someone to talk to.”
